Rules

 Racing format

  • Racers will be using a Mazda Global MX-5 Cup car

  • Each season will consist of 5 rounds, as of season 2, each at different race tracks

  • Each round will have a qualifying session and 2 races with race 2 being a reverse grid start based on race 1 results

    • Each are 20 minutes

  • Drivers points will be rewarded after each race for the top 10 drivers

Rules

Racing

  • Right of way:

    • 1/2 car length, or more, in front = you have the right of way

    • less than 1/2 ca length = must make room for each other aka no closing doors and running drivers off track

    • 4 wheels off track = must yield to drivers on track

  • Only 1 defensive move allowed.

  • Drivers being lapped must yield to drivers lapping them.

    • If a Driver being lapped blocks or makes, at fault, contact with the drivers lapping, they will be disqualified from that round and miss the next round in the series.

INCIDENTS

  • Minor incident punishment will be decided upon by the committee and punishment may range from a stern talking to, all the way up to losing all points/positions from the race in question.

  • Major Incidents can be punishable by missing the next round of races, up to full disqualification from the series and must return any prizes won.

    • Examples of major incidents: Cutting corners, purposefully taken out other drivers, and cheating

    • 3 major penalties and you're disqualified for the season.

PROTESTS

  • A driver must present a formal protest via email to race@ongridtrack.com by 7pm the next day.

  • Protest must have the following:

    • Video of indecent you wish to protest

    • Description stating what happened and what driver caused the incident

    • How the incident affect you

  • In the event your local recording fails, please reach out to a fellow driver to see if it's obtainable through other means.

miscellaneous

  • Cutting track, purposefully taken out other drivers, and cheating are all prohibited. Violators will forfeit any points gained for that round and may be disqualified from the next race or the entire season.

  • Hate speech will not be tolerated. Violators will be banned from the series and discord channel.

Please realize that at the end of the day we are all here to have fun, but at the same time we all want to have a clean race and drive our best race. There are real prizes on the line and some people are in the running to win them so please respect that.
